the way of being home © anil mitra concepts essays resources email The aim of the way of being is to see the mesh of our world with the ultimate, and to use it for the good. How may this be done? Our understanding of the world should be criticized and enhanced by reason. As they are found to mesh, the immediate and ultimate and their interaction are emphasized. Then, to avoid dogma, approaches should be initially neutral to the real. The concept of being is suitably neutral to the real and associated problems of value, knowledge, language, intuition, and action. Proof via analysis of being yields a worldview as framing knowledge and paths or lifeways in the immediate and the ultimate. The view—the real metaphysics—is of the universe as limitless in variety, extension, duration, phasing through void, manifest, and peak (ultimate) states. As counter to most modern views, this may challenge readers’ sense of the real; however (i) the view both proven and consistent with experience – science – in its valid realm (ii) doubt is acknowledged and addressed in ways over and above proof. There are significant consequences for human knowledge and endeavor (concepts and essays). One consequence is a non-prescriptive framework for pathways in the world and the ultimate, which (i) gives meaning and quality to the world and agency to persons rather than authority (ii) implies that our true being transcends the apparent and realizes peak being (and dissolution without end or limit to variety). The framework is a template via which human and ultimate being and meaning are shared and negotiated (ideas from prescriptive ways may be incorporated). |
